Despite growing up in the mid-west I have never been much of a "country girl". I've always been drawn to the city lights, fashions, foods, etc. I was never one for the outdoors until I met, then later married my Southern boy from Arkansas. Thanks to him my tastes have taken on a more rustic vibe. Soooo now I want a ranch. Yes a ranch... with horses... and cattle and me in really cute cowboy boots. We can't forget about those of course. :)
The Pioneer Woman has a lot to do with my recent romanticized vision of ranch life. Ree was recently at my friend's shop here in Tulsa for her book tour but unfortunately I wasn't able to make it. Oh the disappointment!!! I am looking forward to buying her cookbook soon.

The recipes that I have seen so far look a.m.a.z.i.n.g. If you have a minute check out her website. Even if country isn't your thing she has a very witty writing style and her recipes are worth the peek.
Now that you know my litte change of heart tell me about yours. Have you noticed any huge changes in your likes/dislikes since meeting your significant other?

Yeah, I've kind of gone more "country" too. I never thought I'd live in the burbs, but now I do and I'm okay with it. In fact, there are things about it that I like.
But even though I now want to live in a small town, with some land, that doesn't mean I want to move to Lubbock, which is where his grandmother has a farm. That is flat and brown and windy and dry and full of cotton. I want land where it's green with trees and pretty. I'm picky like that. ;-)
My husband has definitely changed me! He has broadened my appreciation for music. I used to enjoy food, now I love great food. Always on a quest to find the best of anything. His family will be eating and will be talking about their next meal!
Love Pioneer Woman i recently asked Rob if we should get some of our relatives that cookbook for Christmas...though i secretly want one for myself.
as for the change question very good question indeed....i think i have changed in the fact that i am more spontanous compared to how i use to be....Rob likes to go with the flow and i am more of a planner so i guess you can say he has helped me be more laid back....
hope you have a great weekend....how is little winston doing?
Ever since I was little and to this day I have wanted a ranch with TONS of horses!
How strange...Paul's Mom has the exact same book and even went to her book signing...what a small world. ;)
Oooh curious! Totally wanna check her out!
Oh yes! I always thought I'd want to live in a big city and live that kind of life. Now, we live on a farm and never want to live in town again.
